Perinatal mental health conditions affect up to 20% of pregnant women, yet many cases go undiagnosed due to symptom overlap with normal pregnancy changes, provider time constraints, and limited training in perinatal psychiatry. This activity addresses critical knowledge gaps by providing practical screening tools, treatment protocols that balance maternal mental health with fetal safety, and coordination strategies between obstetric and mental health teams. Physicians will gain skills to identify at-risk patients, implement appropriate interventions, and provide comprehensive care that supports both maternal wellbeing and healthy pregnancy outcomes.

Dr. Strassberg is a board-certified OBGYN and Maternal-Fetal Medicine physician practicing in Winchester, VA. She is passionate about providing comprehensive high-risk pregnancy care for her patients in the Shenandoah Valley.
Dr. Strassberg graduated medical school from Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2010, attended OBGYN residency at Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip, NY, and an MFM fellowship at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA. Since completing fellowship in 2017, she has worked at Shenandoah Valley Maternal-Fetal Medicine in Winchester, VA.
Dr. Strassberg's research interests include multiple studies with the Pregnancy-Related Care Research Network (PCRN) on vaccination acceptance in pregnancy, including an upcoming project on patient knowledge and acceptance of the RSV vaccine in pregnancy. She has led a randomized controlled trial on patient education methods for preeclampsia and participated in other projects on preeclampsia and fetal growth restriction.
She is a certified life coach and runs a coaching business, Power Passenger Passage, where she coaches anxious pregnant women through preconception to postpartum and beyond.
