About
This comprehensive presentation addresses addiction in pregnancy, a critical yet often overlooked aspect of prenatal care. Substance use disorders significantly impact pregnancies, leading to a range of maternal and fetal complications. However, with early intervention and treatment during pregnancy, we can mitigate many of these adverse effects and enhance long-term recovery. This presentation will equip you with the knowledge and tools to effectively screen, diagnose, and manage addiction in pregnant patients, covering various screening tools, treatment options, and the importance of interdisciplinary care. By participating, you will be better prepared to provide comprehensive, compassionate care to this vulnerable population, making a significant difference in their lives and future health outcomes.

Dr. Dively did her undergraduate work at the West Chester University of Pennsylvania and attended medical school at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Memorial Hospital in York, PA, and worked in private practice in Phoenix, Arizona, and Lancaster, PA, for five years. Dr. Dively then worked in a non-clinical position for four years doing Medicare compliance reviews before getting back into patient care and working in Addiction Medicine. She is board-certified in OB/GYN and a fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Obstetricians and Gynecologists. |
