About
Infertility affects up to 15% of couples, and OB/GYNs are often the first point of contact for evaluation and management. Infertility is defined as the inability to conceive after 12 months of unprotected intercourse in women under 35 or after 6 months in women over 35. Early identification and intervention can improve outcomes, reduce delays in treatment, and provide essential preconception counseling.
This activity equips OB/GYNs with a structured approach to infertility evaluation, including key diagnostic considerations, risk factor stratification, and criteria for expedited referral to a reproductive endocrinologist. By streamlining the workup and ensuring evidence-based assessment, physicians can optimize patient care and improve access to appropriate fertility treatment options.

Jennifer DeAnna, DO
Jennifer DeAnna, DO, is a board-certified Obstetrician and Gynecologist with 10 years of experience in private practice and academic medicine. Before medical school, Dr. DeAnna was a nutritionist for the Women, Infants, and Children's program. She attended medical school at the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine. Virginia Campus and pursued her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Henry Ford Genesys (Formerly, Ascension Genesys) in Grand Blanc, MI. After residency, Dr. DeAnna worked as a general OB-GYN in private practice for 6 years, then transitioned to the fertility field as a generalist at a fertility center.
She is passionate about helping patients navigate their fertility journeys to reach their family building goals and actively advocating for reproductive autonomy.
